QoR Watercolors
I use QoR Watercolors in all my paintings and prefer them for their jewel-toned luminous hues, vibrant colors, and pure, finely ground creamy consistency.
My favorite QoR colors are: Ultramarine Violet mixed with Van Dyke Brown, Manganese Blue, Guinacridone Gold Deep, Naples Yellow, Neutral Tint, Paynes Gray, Titan Buff, Titanium White, and Carbon Black.
QoR paints give me the look I want to achieve in my paintings elevating my artwork to a higher level.
Process: I begin by abstractly painting 2-3 transparent QoR colors on a full sheet of watercolor paper. Applying the paint over water misted paper, the colors freely mingle and run. I then add a loose, expressive line drawing of my subject matter. The initial paint application suggests my color dominance of the artwork. Next, a strong value pattern is designed using beautiful transparent midtone and dark paints. I focus on dramatic paint application, color harmonies ... then ... on adding rhythm, expression, and contrast ... always refining and beautifying each area as I proceed.
Combining QoR Mediums and Grounds with the watercolors offer additional creative effects.
